Bearded Dragon Really isn’t a Dragon

Jessica and her mom

Why are they called dragons? Where are bearded dragons from? Do they see in color? What do they eat? How long do they live? These were the questions many students had for fellow Wolf Jessica  and her mom. They brought in their two fully grown bearded dragons, Copper and Sunny. Students in this group had an opportunity to ask the questions they’ve been dying to know about bearded dragons after getting one as a classroom pet. They also had first encounters with these desert creatures by holding them and watching them eat. Their meal was made up of mealworms…yuuummmmmy! They were a little nervous so they actually didn’t end up eating anything at all. They preferred to run in the direction of their owners and tried to climb over the ”human-arm” fence.  Below are some pictures of our 2010 Wolves Dragon Party.
